Terms of Service
Last updated: 6 August 2026
1. About these terms
These terms govern your use of the Author Thrive website and any services you purchase from us. Author Thrive is based in Obada, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria, and can be reached at theauthorsthrive@gmail.com.
2. Services
We provide book promotion, advertising management, market research, promotional asset design, author and book website development, and book club placement support. The exact scope, deliverables, and timeline for your engagement are confirmed in writing before work begins.
3. Fees and payment
- Package prices listed on our pricing page are in US dollars and exclude third-party advertising spend, which is billed separately and at cost.
- One-time packages are payable in full before work starts. Monthly packages are billed at the start of each service month.
- Monthly engagements can be cancelled with 14 days' written notice before the next billing date.
4. Client responsibilities
You confirm that you own or are licensed to use all manuscripts, artwork, and materials you send us, and that they do not infringe anyone else's rights. Timely delivery depends on you supplying content, approvals, and account access when requested.
5. Results
Marketing outcomes depend on factors outside our control, including your book, genre, pricing, and market conditions. We do not guarantee sales figures, rankings, bestseller status, review counts, or specific advertising returns.
6. Intellectual property
You retain all rights to your manuscript and brand. Final deliverables we create for you — such as covers, graphics, trailers, and websites — transfer to you once the related invoice is paid in full. We may reference completed work in our portfolio unless you ask us in writing not to.
7. Confidentiality
Manuscripts and unpublished material you share with us are treated as confidential and are not disclosed to third parties without your permission.
8. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to an engagement is limited to the fees you paid us for that engagement. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits or lost sales.
9. Termination
Either party may end an engagement for material breach that is not corrected within 14 days of written notice. Fees for work already delivered remain payable.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
